There are remote controlled robots that can do extremely delicate surgery; they’re pretty useful. Other useful robots are used to decomission old nuclear reactors (i.e. to take them apart and dispose of the bits and pieces). This is one of the ideal ways to use a robot – to do something complex in a place that would be too dangerous for a human.
