I want to use it improve my skills in talking about science and so travel outside of South Wales to talk about it. I am interested in studying lots of things – many science topics, but also music, comedy, radio and other things.

I can use the money to come and visit schools in the UK bringing some objects from the Jenner Museum with me to talk about the history of vaccination and modern day vaccination. OR. My work colleagues at the South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative in South Africa mde a comic story about why TB is important and volunteering for a TB vaccine trial (below is 1 page). Kids from one school liked the comic so much they turned it into a play. They would like to use the £500 prize money to fund the school kids in Cape Town to perform the play at a local shopping mall and at some other schools. Go to my profile and vote for the one you think I should do!

I plan to use the money to develop a stand that can be used in science festivals and open days for schools, for example, printing posters, getting 3D glasses for spectators, and other nick-nacks to make the experience more interesting. Because I work in vision science, if I can get an example experiment “embedded” in the stand that people can stop and do as they walk by, that would be brilliant.
