• Question: is the sun really just a gianormous, oversized star??

      The sun is actually quite a small star – most of the stars you see in the sky are much bigger than our sun! They look tiny because they are so far away — actually, the light you see in the sky from a star when you look up at night was emmitted from that star millions of years ago!! Lots of the stars we see in the sky might not even exist anymore!!!

      The sun is a star. It’s huge and bright to us but maybe there are people sat on a planet somewhere else in the universe for whom our sun is just the tiniest little star in the night sky

      I wouldn’t say ‘just’! It is quite impressive and useful to us! But yes, the sun is a star.
