A gift! The world is an amazing place – I’d hate not to be able to see it.

A gift. Civilisation would never have got off the ground if we couldn’t see – we rely on it for almost everything!

Everything has its ups and downs – sight has evolved because it has extremely useful survival value, but we also tend to rely on it too much. We are helpless in the dark, because our brains are so enthralled with sight that they haven’t bothered to develop echolocation. On balance though, I’d say “gift”.

A gift to help us hunt for our dinner and avoid being someone else’s dinner!
