This is depressing – why are so many students asking about the end of the world?

A long time I hope – I’ve got lots to do before it happens!

If there is a nuclear war, not long! If we somehow learn to get along with each other, it will last until the sun turns into a red-giant and engulfs the earth in about 4-5 billion years. Better to leave before then. Hopefully there will be some nice holiday homes in the Andromeda galaxy by then, and a new version of the Ford Mondeo that can travel near light speed so we can get there in time.

It could take a second, or it could take forever.. who knows!
