Depends what you mean – I’ve not made any breaking scientific discovery. However working in research means discovering new pieces of information such as unexpected results from tests on a fairly regular basis.

I have made a series of very small discoveries about the different effects TB vaccines have on the immune system. Nothing big yet but maybe my small discoveries will help someone else to find something really big!

A few different things. We have found out what sorts of features attract people’s attention in pictures, how well people can recognize faces when viewed at different angles, how many objects in a scene people can remember and how they bind these objects with their locations, that people unite physical actions with memory for objects so that repeating a physical action can enhance the memory for the object, and several other theories relating to memory, face perception and the control of our eyes while searching for objects or just looking at pictures.

Not specifically related to science but I have discovered that you should never lose sight of what it is that you hope to achieve even if you have to ‘go round the houses’ to get there. Often you can discovery something by accident!
