• Question: have you achieved anything with your robots yet ?

      No! Personally I do very little with robots. Some of my colleagues in my Department do, and so do many of my friends in other universities or industry. The closest I am to working with robots myself at the moment is in working with a colleague at BAE Systems, on autonomous vehicles (i.e. robotic vehicles that drive themselves). Together we are working on how they plan for themselves a successful route from A to B, taking into account the terrain (mud, rocks, etc…).

      If I win the £500, I will buy myself a good programmable autonomous robot, and one of the things I hope to achieve with that is get more and more students interested in computer science.
