I think it depends on the individuals – it does for some people but not everyone.

It can, but often it doesn’t. Some people I know have married their first ever boyfriend/girlfriend and are perfectly happy with each other decades later. But other people fall in and out of love at the drop of a hat. Some people are loyal and don’t change their minds a lot, whilst others are fickle and crave the excitement of a new love every so often!

If we think love is all about passing on your genes then once your children are grown up love might wane as there is no biological reason to love anymore. Maybe that’s why some people have a mid-life crisis…
