• Question: does lightening affect a flying commercail aeroplane? what damage does it cause and what are the effects?

      Yes – no planes can escape being hit by lightning. Commercial planes are hit most commonly because they are in the air more than military or private planes. All commercial planes are protected so that the damage caused is minimal – it may need a small part of the surface replacing once it’s landed – and not life threatening.
