Question: Do you think we should be spending money on developing renewable energy sources rather than continuing to extract oil? What do you consider to be a realistic alternative?

  Yes, I agree that we should be looking to develop renewable energy sources and preferrable at a community level whereby small villages/towns can have e.g wind turbines then the people own there own power. Dependance on oil not only has environmental consequences – burnig fossil fuels, carbon emissions etc but also politically it can be very dangerous.
  Realistic alternatives include tidal, wind and solar and hydro power.
