Well you could imagine a triangle over any part of the world but I don’t believe that there’s anything spooky going on there that results in the loss of planes.

I went to Bermuda a few years ago, and I am here to tell the tale, so I don’t believe it! However, it is true that there are a lot of shipwrecks around Bermuda because there is a wide and very shallow coral reef that has punctured many a passing vessel! This may be how the myth started.

When you look into it, it seems that the number of accidents or unexplained events there is not unusually high, especially given that it’s very busy with flights and shipping. Then again, I seem to remember a song called the Bermuda Triangle, by Barry Manilow. My memory must be fooling me – the idea that someone would write a pop song about a giant invisible airborne polygon is utterly crazy.THAT Bermuda Triangle definitely can’t be real.

The people at work say: There have been a lot of incidents which lead to the myth of the Bermuda triangle. The planes that went missing are believed to be due to the leaders losing their bearings and mistaken the islands leading them to go off in the wrong direction and running out of fuel. The boats have gone missing; one theory is that methane hydrate is released by seismic activity affecting the density of water and causing ships to sink.
