• Question: By protecting does it mean, developing a plane which can fly safely when there is lightening, or making sure they don't fly?

      Lightning happens all the time and it happens so quickly that it is almost impossible to avoid. Pilots will try and avoid thunderclouds where possible to reduce the risk of being hit by lightning. But when we build planes, we ensure they are protected so that when they do get struck, everyone on board is perfectly safe.
