• Question: are there any nutrients in snot ?

      Interesting question! Well, mucus is made of glycoproteins (proteins with sugars attached to them) and salts with some antibacterial enzymes. So I guess there is some nutritional content although when you have a cold it will also be full of viruses and bacteria so on balance I wouldn’t eat it!!

      I think the best way to address this question, while at the same time explaining and encouraging scientific research, is to suggest that you do an experiment to find out.

      I’m sure there are but I don’t think it tastes very nice.

      I would estimate that snot has about the same nutritional value as a chicken nugget.
